Wattle Point Wind Farm

Wattle Point Wind Farm

Wattle Point Wind Farm (also known as Honiton Wind Farm), near Edithburgh on the coast of South Australia has been operating since April 2005. When it opened it was Australia's largest wind farm at 91 MW.

The installation consists of 55 wind turbines covering 17.5 square kilometres.

Wattle Point Wind Farm was built Southern Hydro Pty Limited which was then owned by Meridian Energy of New Zealand. In October 2005, it was bought by AGL Energy. A year later, it was acquired by Alinta, as part of an asset merger with AGL, and, in 2007, sold to the ANZ's Energy Infrastructure Trust.
